After other visitors yelled at them to leave the birds alone, one of the men threw a rock at an egret, a wading bird, closely related to a heron. The man missed but hit the bird with a second rock, Kaylyn Donica, a witness, told the station. The bird fell over in the water.

A 36-year-old Los Angeles County man has been arrested after reportedly throwing a rock at a beloved Great Egret in San Bernardino, leaving the bird, which ultimately died, badly wounded.  Shelby Nelson reports on Nov.
